About Dyverynce Vaughan, LPC

DyverynceGaining lasting results for you is my goal.

Hi, I’m Dyverynce, but you can call me Dee, as my close friends and family do. If you’re reading this page, you are tired of your life and are ready for change. When you decide to do therapy with me, you are signing up for an experience.

Whatever you think you know about therapy, throw that idea out of the window. Therapy with me is far from traditional or boring. I am always my whole self, hoping it will invite you to be the same.

My office is not a place for cookie-cutter answers or methods. I will push you to think beyond what you know and how your parents raised you and do new things. If you want a different result, you must be willing to do something different.

While there may be some emotional moments, you can expect to laugh, be excited, and enjoy your time. My clients who use the techniques and skills they learn get the long-lasting results they want.

I’m passionate about your life because it’s a significant value of mine that every person lives life to their full potential. It’s the Enthusiast (Enneagram Type 7) in me.

I am motivated by this belief that life, with some bumps in the road, should be enjoyable. Yet, I have still been where you are. I know what it’s like to wake up one morning and realize life is not what you expected.

I’ve experienced devastating losses over the years and am still here. I take in these experiences and learn from them to become a better, more accessible version of myself.

Feeling Moody exists for this reason. I woke up one morning realizing my life wasn’t going how I expected or wanted it to be, and I had to do something about it. Like many of us, I’ve been down and out – but I got up swinging. And I want to teach you to do the same thing.

Being a “quality” therapist requires training.

I have a master’s degree in Counselor Education from Radford University. Through the years, I have received training in several therapeutic modalities.

These modalities include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dance Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Gestalt Therapy, Dream Analysis, and other trauma-focused interventions that produce life-changing results.

I am a certified EMDR Therapist through the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Being certified in EMDR means I have advanced training in EMDR and can use it to help clients reprocess life events in ways they may not have even known were possible with this method.

I do not believe that one approach fits all needs. Therefore, gaining experience in several methods allows me to use a strategy specific to the needs of each client.

DogSome fun facts about me.

I am a mamma to an amazing little girl who keeps me on my toes. I never expected to navigate life as a single mother, but being a mother is the greatest joy of my life!

As a foodie, I will try almost any food once. I believe in total wellness, meaning I attend to my faith for spiritual growth and try to be physically active.

From the seventh grade through college, I was an athlete specializing in track and field. At any time, I have a million track examples to draw from during therapy. Sorry in advance – but you needed the warning. I also love to dance and have experience in multiple genres – some that might surprise you.

After having a baby, I’m on a journey of loving my new body and being comfortable with where I am in my physical fitness.
