About Tamara Williams, LCSW

You don’t have to carry your past alone anymore.

Hi, I’m Tamara. If you’re reading this, you’re ready for something different. When you choose to work with me, you’re choosing a safe and healing place to work through life’s difficulties, a place where your unique journey is honored.

With over 10 years of experience in outpatient therapy and community social work, I’ve worked with people from all walks of life. I know that everyone’s story is different, and everyone deserves support in finding their path to healing.

My approach is tailored to you.

I specialize in helping adults heal from childhood trauma and break destructive patterns. Using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and inner child work, we’ll replace unhealthy thought patterns with healthier ones. Together, we’ll work on anxiety, depression, disruptive behaviors, relationship challenges, domestic violence, substance abuse, self-esteem, trauma, and more.

I believe therapy should be as unique as you are. That’s why I incorporate creative interventions, including music, to help you connect with yourself in meaningful ways. You’ll gain practical skills to manage anxiety, build self-esteem, and create the healthy relationships you deserve.

Imagine waking up feeling worthy. Picture relationships where you speak up without fear and trust without panic. Healing is possible, and you deserve support on this journey.

Training that serves you.

I hold a Bachelor of Social Work from Virginia State University and a Master of Social Work from Capella University. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Social Work at Capella University. My training equips me to help you implement healthier thought patterns and behaviors through evidence-based cognitive-behavioral techniques.

But credentials are just the beginning. What matters most is creating a plan together that helps you reach your goals. Because I know therapy looks different for all individuals, I will work with you every step of the way.

The importance of self-care.

Self-care enhances your overall well-being and happiness while strengthening your relationships with others. As part of taking care of myself, I make sure to:

  • Laugh and find the joys in life
  • Spend quality time with family and friends, while also leaving time for myself
  • Travel and explore new places
  • Enjoy monthly massages
  • Shower my daughter with all my love!

I believe in practicing what I teach. Self-care isn’t selfish; it’s essential. And I’m here to help you discover what self-care looks like for you.

Everyone’s journey is unique, and I am here to support you on yours.

Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, healing from trauma, or working to build healthier relationships, you don’t have to do it alone. Together, we’ll create a path forward that honors where you’ve been and celebrates where you’re going.

You deserve healing. You deserve peace. Let’s take this journey together.
